The Photographers’ Gallery presented a launch in order to introduce several new carefully-chosen volumes of Shirley Baker’s work. The event took place in the bookshop area downstairs at the Soho-based gallery.
Various aspects of Baker’s work are covered, from two new additions to the Cafe Royal collections, based on the photographers’ favourite subjects. Also on display is Without a Trace by the History Press, presenting the artists’ work from a historical perspective; images are chosen in order to highlight the dramatic changes in the landscapes and residents of Manchester and Salford. And animal lovers cannot fail to be amused by Dog Show, an affectionate and wry series of dogs, their owners and the world of dog shows in the 60s.
The books are all available at The Photographers’ Gallery and from this site, please click here
